Sherry Orchard was born and raised in the beautiful Walla Walla Valley of Southeastern Washington state.
A self taught artist, she has experimented with many different mediums but prefers the versatility, bright colors and quick drying time of acrylics.
She loves to try new things and has found a fascinating painting surface on feathers. Her feather paintings have included images of snowy owls, grizzly bears and wolves to landscapes of farms and ocean scenes. She uses many types of feathers for her work such as wild turkey and peacock. Her creations range from tiny single feather pieces to large multi feather paintings that are the focal point of a room.
Sherry’s work has been exhibited at many juried shows and festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest. Her paintings have been purchased by collectors across the U.S. and from as far away as England, France and Australia. She is currently represented by Hadley House Publishing, Northwest Art Mall and has artwork available through Wild West Designs in Jackson Hole, WY and Tra Vigne Gallery in Walla Walla, WA.
Sherry has been featured in publications such as Mid Columbia magazine and in various regional media articles.
Living in the foothills of the Blue Mountains enables her to have an up close view of wildlife on a daily basis whether it's an elk herd taking a shortcut through her backyard or watching a black bear wander through her pasture, each day offers a new and inspiring painting opportunity. She always keeps a camera handy to capture those unexpected moments.
She lives with her husband Bill, and 2 children Danielle and Shane on property that has been in her family for over 100 years.
